“Getaway Green” made its world premiere at the Slam Dunk Festival on May 25 during All Time Low’s set.

Rock Sound sat down with the band to get the inside scoop on the story behind the new song, and it was here that the band’s lead singer, Alex Gaskarth – explained that adding the song to their setlist was a spur of the moment decision.

As the band practiced leading up to the festival, they decided to throw in the song to shake things up a bit, as bands used to do “back in the day.”

All Time Low still doesn’t have a set release for their upcoming album and they don’t know whether this song will make the cut or not, but it may be a sign of things to come during the band’s next chapter.

Earlier this year, Gaskarth said that they wanted to get back to more of their staple sound and the band’s roots. In his interview with Rock Sound, he said that he felt that “Getaway Green” felt very much like this.
