First Sad Summer Festival Lineup Dropped

It looks like an alternative to The Van’s Warped Tour has finally rose.

Just a few days ago, pop-punk bands like State Champs and The Maine began to advertise for an event called the Sad Summer Festival on social media. Very little was released other than the date of March 19 and a small video clip advertising said event. Speculation erupted and now today, it looks like we’ve got our answers.

Headlining the festival – aside from State Champs and The Maine – will be Mayday Parade and The Wonder Years. Mom Jeans, Stand Atlantic, L.I.F.T., and Just Friends will also appear on the festival and plenty of bands will be joining the tour for select dates (Every Avenue, Four Year Strong, Set It Off, and Forever The Sickest Kids). Emo Nite will follow the festival on certain dates as well.

According to a press release posted by broadwayworld.com, the tour will be hitting seventeen cities across the country beginning on July 5 in Dallas, TX and will end in California on August 3.

Much like Warped Tour, the festival will feature nonprofits on site to provide education to attendees; merchandise, activities, and fan-interaction are also slated to appear. In each city, the festival has plans to work with a local community organization to help get people more involved and aware of the ways in which they can give back.
